Our Training
Our training program is designed to build technical mastery and tactical intelligence, with a strong emphasis on ball control and tactical awareness from the start. Regardless of age or experience level, from U5 to U19, players engage in advanced training sessions that replicate the intensity and dynamics of real-game conditions. This game-like training environment encourages players to practice precise dribbling, passing, and first touch, preparing them to excel under the pressures of actual competition.
Our progressive training model tailors drills to be age-appropriate and skill-specific, ensuring that each session meets players at their current level while challenging them to elevate their performance. Younger players focus on foundational skills and spatial awareness, developing essential habits that set them up for future success. As players progress, they’re introduced to more complex tactics, including positional awareness, timing, and off-ball movement, all while emphasizing fast-paced decision-making and adaptability.
Through this immersive approach, players develop situational awareness and tactical discipline, equipping them with the confidence to make effective decisions on the field. By building these skills in a setting that mirrors real game scenarios, our program ensures that players are well-prepared, technically and tactically, to compete at their highest level.
We strive to create a space where both players and the community can connect with the sport, fostering a love for soccer in a fun and professional environment.
Family Owned
The club is operated by a Dutch family who shares a profound love for soccer. It is a part of the Dutch Lions Capital Group USA, which was established in 2009 by Erik Tammer and Mike Mossel. Alongside the Houston franchise, the Dutch Capital Group owns eight other Dutch Lions FC clubs across the United States.
Leading the Houston Dutch Lions FC franchise is majority owner Martin Kroeze, with the day-to-day operations managed by his sons, Dennis Kroeze and Robbert Kroeze. Martin Kroeze brings extensive experience, having served on the board of Eredivisie Club Willem II in the Netherlands for several years and holding the position of interim Technical Director. Both Dennis and Robbert Kroeze possess firsthand knowledge of playing for college teams in Ohio and hold MBAs in Business and Sports Management, further enriching their expertise in the field.
